"I was recently sent a book to review from an author named Robin Murray. Check out the picture to see the cover of the book. She also helped illustrate the book which was nicely done. The book is full of wonderful vibrant colors and you'll find pleasing-to-the-eye drawings on every page. The book is called THE CATERPILLARS THAT GREW...AND GREW...AND GREW!
The book teaches about the life cycle of the butterfly, but Murray wrote it in a way that there is a story intertwined with the facts. It instantly brought me back to my 2nd graders because when I taught, we always did a unit on the life cycle of a butterfly. In fact, this book would have been perfect for that. My 2 year old was very interested in the colors and illustrations on every page.
Ideal for school-aged children, it not only teaches the basic facts of the life cycle, but also goes into detail about blooming plants perfect for attracting butterflies and which host plants are perfect for each species of munching caterpillars to grow big and fat. If you have a child who loves to learn about science in a fun way, this is a perfect book for you!"
